1/5/2006 - Voice Technology specialists, NCT, have been selected to present their technology for enabling in car communications at the Advanced Automotive Electronics Conference (AAE). This important industry event is to be held at the prestigious Williams F1 Conference Centre on 25th January 2006 and will host a broad range of automotive industry managers and engineers.
NCT specialize in providing software components that provide noise and echo reduction and speech enhancement for communication system developers. Their ClearSpeech product exists in millions of 3G mobile phones and hands-free systems around the world and is even used in the extremely noisy environment of motor racing, to enable clear communication between the drivers and the pit crews.
"We live in a noisy world, so technology such as ClearSpeech has become an essential component to enable communication system manufacturers to meet consumer expectations," said Nathan Blundy, DSP Audio Applications Engineer.
"To develop this technology, the very best of the disciplines of advanced mathematics and software programming have to be brought together, along with a wealth of experience and understanding of the environments in which these systems are used. This presentation will provide an overview of how we overcome noise and echo in a range of applications that include in-car voice recognition, hands-free systems, wireless Bluetooth headsets, emergency services radio systems and even a 'Drive Thru' restaurant intercom system."
The AAE Conference is a technology event for all engineers, project leaders, and technical management involved in automotive electronic system design and development. It will be of direct benefit to all those working in vehicle manufacturing, OEMs, consultancies, research & development establishments, academic centres, and motor industry associations. At AAE2006, delegates will have the opportunity to discuss the key issues and challenges facing the automotive industry, as well as learn about the latest technological developments, industry standards, and new products to assist their design and development strategies and applications.
As an added feature, the day will be rounded off with a private viewing of the historic RBS Williams F1 Grand Prix collection, spanning 1977 to the present day - a tour not open to the public. All delegates will also be entered into a prize draw for two tickets to a Race Day, and will be able to purchase memorabilia and merchandise.
