1/2/2006 - Mistral Software, an ISO 9001:2000 certified premium product-realization company, is pleased to announce design wins based on its Customizable Product Design - SUNADA. Released in February 2005, the SUNADA is a completely integrated and customizable product design built around TI's OMAP5912TM processor. The SUNADA can be customized for multiple applications like GSM Phone, navigation, Digital Audio, gaming, organizer, e-learning, video, internet access, VoIP, VGA camera, jukebox amongst others, enabling end users to harness the true potential of mobile computing.
Highlights of the Customizable Product Design
The SUNADA is an excellent example of converging multiple applications in a single device. The ultra-sleek device designed for a slim mechanical enclosure runs WinCE OS on a TI OMAP5912TM processor and supports five Radio modules for GPS, GSM/GPRS, WLAN, Bluetooth and FM and comes with a Quarter VGA resolution 3" LCD display with a touchpanel and keypad. It also includes a Digital Camera, SDIO/SD-MMC slot, and a 1" Hard Disk. It is among the first designs to converge five RF modules in one small form factor board based on OMAP5912.
The Design Wins
Mistral has had many design wins for consumer products based on their SUNADA design. Over the past year, Mistral has worked with various device manufacturers in Europe and US to customize the SUNADA for their upcoming products like: GPS based navigation device, high-end digital audio system, rugged wrist-mounted computer and medical electronics device. These products will begin to appear in the markets over the next few months.
"These wins are an outcome of an investment that we made in building the SUNADA customizable design. Today there is a complete eco-system around the SUNADA which includes technology components, software development and production support." said Samyeer Metrani, VP Product Development at Mistral Software. "Over the past few months, we have further improved on the SUNADA design by integrating it into a smaller form factor board and supporting multiple OS like WinCE5.0, Windows Mobile, & Linux. The new design is suitable for end products like wrist-mounted computers, gaming terminals, assisted living devices and smart phones."
