9/20/2005 - Imagineer Systems, innovative developer of the VFX packages mokey, monet and mofex, announces the release of "monet V2 - placement station" based on DVS' powerful video I/O board Centaurus.
monet is a tracking and compositing toolset for commercial, film and corporate video post production work. Based on Imagineer's unique 2.5D planar tracking and shadow/highlight extraction technology it offers a cost effective standalone solution for performing virtual product placement. It complements traditional post production pipelines by delivering the highest quality 2D tracking data and graphical elements for finishing in other compositing and editing systems.
monet V2 will be available in a number of flavors, including a complete start-to-finish solution based on Centaurus, DVS' state-of-the-art PCI-X board for uncompressed SD, HD and 2K video. The DVS board supports all popular color spaces, frame rates, rasters and resolutions, for example 720p, 1080p, 1080i, 1080sF to full 2K-film (2048x1556) in 8 or 10 bit. Centaurus is equipped with the most reliable RS-422 master/slave control, wordclock and a GPI interface.
Allan Jaenicke, Managing Director of Imagineer Systems "With monet V2 we're offering our customers a highly productive solution in which the DVS hardware is an integral part. Centaurus has the ability to convert data in different formats, resolutions and color spaces - all in real time. We receive the boards from DVS in a single hardware configuration and can reconfigure them according to our customer's needs; for example for SD, HD or 2K. This flexibility is invaluable as it guarantees an upgrade path for our customers too."
Hans-Ulrich Weidenbruch, Managing Director of DVS: "The innovative products developed by the Imagineer team add great value to the VFX production process. Our high quality hardware together with Imagineer's intelligent software form a very powerful combination."
