CLIPSTER Wins Digital Cinematography Award

6/6/2005 - At NAB 2005 the prestigious "Digital Cinematography Premiere Product Award" went to the DI system CLIPSTER® by DVS. With this award the experts of the Digital Cinematography magazine recognize outstanding achievements in the development of digital video technology.

Recognizing CLIPSTER's advanced and innovative technology, DVS has been presented with the Digital Cinematography Award. On its first outing at NAB 2005 CLIPSTER's version 2.0 received this prestigious award and further accolades from both customers and industry experts.

Provided with a wide range of new software features CLIPSTER has become an all-encompassing film conforming and finishing system. In its version 2.0 it offers secondary color correction, real-time color management and an extensive number of effects. Moreover, CLIPSTER is a real 4K-capable system - one of only a few in the market for DI systems. Equipped with these features, CLIPSTER covers the entire DI workflow in one system, providing the highest level of quality (4K RGB 12 bit) combined with extreme performance (real-time 2K RGB 12 bit transitions).

The system records and plays out data in any format, resolution, bit-depth, color space or file type, all in real time without conversion. The visual effects package now includes primary and secondary color correction, pan-and-scan, rotation, flip/flop, cropping and transitions in real time. In addition, a huge range of 3rd party effects are supported by the OpenFX plug-in interface. To get the right "film look" during grading CLIPSTER supports color management tools from Kodak and Arri using real-time 3D Look-up tables. The optimized user interface, multi-video track functionality and new input devices like the trackball color correction panel ensure an efficient workflow within a very user-friendly environment.

"The Digital Cinematography Awards are nominated by industry professionals and selected by editors from Digital Cinematography. To be selected as a Digital Cinematography Award winner, the editors must unanimously agree on the merits of the product or technology", comments magazine editor Cristina Clapp.

Peter Spoer, President of DVS Inc.: "Receiving the Digital Cinematography Award for CLIPSTER version 2.0 makes us very proud. It underlines our belief that CLIPSTER is becoming the reference for quality and performance in the DI market place. With version 2.0 CLIPSTER moves to the next level, making it the true one-stop solution for DI work."
