QNX Software Demonstrates Innovative In-Car Entertainment Devices

5/17/2005 - QNX Software Systems announced that the company is attending Telematics Detroit 2005, where it will demonstrate innovative aftermarket and OEM in-car entertainment devices in Booth #34. QNX will offer a demonstration of the JVC infotainment system, a DVD receiver and monitor for in-car use, and the latest Delphi hard drive radio, which plays MP3s and synchronizes with home music libraries. Both the JVC infotainment device and the Delphi hard drive radio are powered by the QNX® Neutrino® realtime operating system (RTOS) and will be on display throughout the Telematics Detroit 2005 Conference.

The JVC and Delphi units are excellent examples of the innovative offerings for in-car entertainment today:

QNX will demonstrate how the JVC and Delphi entertainment units achieved their automotive-grade performance by taking advantage of the ultra-reliable QNX Neutrino operating system. With its fault-tolerant architecture and hard realtime capabilities, the QNX Neutrino RTOS offers a robust software foundation for complex infotainment applications.

"QNX is committed to building next-generation in-car entertainment products that give consumers added flexibility to improve their driving experience," said Andrew Poliak, automotive business manager, QNX Software Systems. "These highly reliable and flexible systems at Telematics Detroit 2005 represent the tip of the iceberg for QNX auto applications and are examples of some of the most innovative telematics offerings on the market."
