VMETRO Debuts PowerMIDAS C5000 PowerPC PMC Carrier with Fibre Channel

5/5/2005 - VMETRO, a premier provider of high-performance processors, sensor I/O, data recorders, and bus analyzers, introduced the PowerMIDAS C5000, an intelligent dual-PMC I/O controller for CompactPCI. The PowerMIDAS C5000 easily integrates PowerPC CPUs, Fibre Channel, Gigabit Ethernet, Fast Ethernet and dual PMC module I/O devices into a single 6U CompactPCI system. The VME based PowerMIDAS boards are well established for defense and aerospace applications. Typical high-performance embedded applications requiring PowerMIDAS's power and flexibility include surveillance, signal intelligence, and telemetry as well as semiconductor and medical imaging systems. The CompactPCI form factor opens new markets for VMETRO, such as industrial and telecom applications.
