5/5/2005 - Accent Srl and Giga Scale Integration Corporation (Giga Scale IC) announced that Accent has chosen Giga Scale IC’s InCyte software tool for its early silicon chip estimation and architectural exploration needs, and also that Giga Scale IC has joined Accent’s “Highway to Silicon” Alliance Programme.
InCyte allows users to estimate IC cost, yield, die size, power and leakage to within five to ten percent accuracy of final silicon, as well as to make architectural and economic comparisons and tradeoffs across various technology nodes, process variants and Intellectual Property (IP) options. The tool has proved effective at reducing total IC cost and minimising the duration of the design cycle.
“InCyte is alone among EDA tools in facilitating accurate chip estimation and cost-saving design exploration, said Claudio Fasce, VP of Business Area Electronics for Accent. “InCyte adds value that we can pass on to our customers as we realise the cost savings that accrue by analysing our design and IP choices early.”
“We are pleased that Accent, one of the world’s largest independent design service firms, has added InCyte to its toolbox. As a direct result of early chip estimation and design exploration, Accent can make better decisions that will ultimately benefit their customers,” added Adam Traidman, President of Giga Scale IC.
About Accent’s “Highway to Silicon” Alliance Programme
Accent's “Highway to Silicon” Alliance Programme creates and maintains well-established relationships with leading organisations and technology providers to offer end-to-end services to customers. These relationships allow Accent's clients to benefit from both leading and emerging technologies, thereby helping them to deliver their products on time and with the proper level of quality.
Accent Srl is a leading electronics design house that helps customers worldwide to realise their new product ideas and concepts as well as further innovate existing products through the development of dedicated ICs (integrated circuits) and complex, high performance SoCs (systems-on-chip). Accent works closely with IDMs, OEMs and fabless companies alike as well as increasingly with non-electronics companies that need access to electronics expertise as part of their product innovation processes. Accent can provide a turnkey design service from concept and architecture definition through to design implementation and prototyping as well as assist customers’ own design teams with experienced design engineers at every stage of the development flow. Accent can also manage the whole electronics supply chain including access to the major foundries for small-to-medium volumes silicon with a COT (customer-owned tooling) approach through its Highway to Silicon programme. Accent operates through offices and representatives in Germany, Israel, Italy, the UK and the USA. About Giga Scale IC
Founded in 2003, Giga Scale Integration Corporation (Giga Scale IC) is a privately funded electronic design automation (EDA) company that has produced the industry’s first software tool designed to facilitate a comprehensive technical and economic analysis at the earliest stage of the chip design flow. InCyte dramatically reduces the risk, design time and cost of IC design. It accurately estimates key IC specifications, including size, power, leakage, cost, and yield. Visitors to www.ChipEstimate.com can download a copy of InCyte that can be upgraded to include prominent IP vendor and foundry datasets. Giga Scale IC is located at: 10050 North Wolfe Road, Suite SW1-266, Cupertino, Calif. 95014. Telephone: +1 408 55-0444. Facsimile: +1 408 255-0344. Email: email@example.com. Web Site: www.gigaic.com.
