FFE Software Launches Version 3.00 of FirstSQL/J
5/3/2005 - FFE Software, Inc. announced immediate availability of FirstSQL/J Enterprise Edition, Version 3.00 and FirstSQL/J Professional Edition, Version 3.00. The Enterprise and Professional Editions are full featured Object/Relational Database Management Systems (ORDBMSs). Both products are available through our Download Page.
FFE hailed the new release as a major step in bringing FirstSQL/J to the highest level among top enterprise DBMSs. Working with their primary customers, FFE Software significantly improved its enterprise features and usability as well as compatibility with J2EE and high-level interfaces such as Hibernate. In addition, the new ODBC 3 driver reaches out to a wide array of applications and tools implemented in a variety of languages.

3.00 Details
The new Version 3.00 includes the following enhancements:
- Database Triggers -- implemented in Java
- Sequence Keys -- auto-increment columns also known as identity or surrogate keys
- Constraint Improvements --
- CHECK constraints
- Constraint names
- ADD/DROP constraints
- ODBC 3 Driver for Enterprise Server -- available separately from the company.
- Additional Usability Facilities -- improved logging, IS [NOT] TRUE|FALSE|UNKNOWN predicates, plugin methods for recursive queries, mutable wrappers for input/output arguments to stored procedures.
