AMP-ViSiO Delivers Compressed Video Recording and Streaming for Security

4/25/2005 - AMP-ViSiO from Ateme provides a complete reference design based on a dual processor hardware design (Motorola MPC5200 GPP/TI DM642 DSP), and includes hard disk drive, new audio/video I/O board, Embedded Linux Development kit, drivers, libraries and source code example (DVR).

The AMP/ViSiO is the one stop solution for Audio and Video encoding and recording for high quality security applications, reducing time to market to a minimum. Moving to a production design can also be simplified by purchase of optional ORCAD files and Bill of Materials of the AMP-ViSiO.

This complete package provides all necessary hardware (AMP processing board and ViSiO, video, audio and peripheral input/output board) and Hard Disk Drive (HDD) and software. This includes development tools, Embedded Linux Development Kit (ELDK) and a Digital Video Recorder (DVR) sample application with source code, RTP/RTSP Server Library, Audio Encoder (AAC), audio/video synchronisation and PCI communications to the DSP co-processor. Libraries for the DSP include video capture, MPEG4 Simple Profile video encoder and video output control.

The GPP provides a much wider range of peripherals that would be possible with a DSP only solution, including USB, RS485/422, RS232, CAN interface, digital I/O and ATA-33.
