ADLINK Technology Becomes Associate Member of LXI Consortium

4/21/2005 - ADLINK Technology Inc., a leading provider of PXI modules and platforms and a leading embedded computing company, announces its membership in the LXI Consortium as an Associate Member. The LXI Consortium promotes the development and adoption of the LXI Standard, an open, accessible standard identifying specifications and solutions relating to the functional test, measurement and data acquisition industry.

“We are excited to join the consortium and look forward to contributing to the organization’s development of a standard for LAN-based test and measurement,” said ADLINK Chief Technology Office Jeff Munch. “LAN-based instruments are in our roadmap now and will soon be in the hands of customers.”

Currently there are no LXI products in market. The adoption of formal specifications is scheduled for September 2005.

LAN-based eXtensions for Instrumentation (LXI) is the next generation of test systems combining state-of-the-art measurements in a small package at a cost-effective price. It combines the best of GPIB instruments and VXI modules. LXI is the reduced size of VXI, high throughput of LAN, and the high performance measurements of GPIB but without the card-cage, slot 0 or expensive PC for communication links.

The LXI Consortium is a not-for-profit corporation initially established by Agilent Technologies and VXI Technology, Inc. It has grown to 28 members in its first five months.
