4/15/2005 - The Venture Development Corporation (VDC) of Natick, MA has named I-Logix Inc.’s latest version of Rhapsody 6.0 as the winner of the highly sought after Best of Show award for 2005’s Embedded Show Conference (ESC) held in San Francisco, CA. The VDC “Embeddies” are awarded exclusively to companies who offer embedded systems solutions, products and services to software developers and systems engineers. In a very competitive field, Rhapsody 6.0 won based on the product’s ability to provide developers with the most usable, powerful and developer-centric Model-driven Development (MDD) solution on the market today. Rhapsody 6.0 introduces many innovations to make Unified Modeling Language (UMLTM) based modeling, simulation, code generation and test available in an intuitive and natural manner, irrespective of a developer’s methodology or language preference. The result is a quick ramp-up, which drives the individual developer’s productivity and enhances the overall effectiveness of the development team.
“The emphasis on making the tool accessible to developers is why VDC believes this product is so important. The focus on utility, with Rhapsody 6.0’s key new features and intuitive ease-of-use, is what makes this Model-Driven Design (MDD) solution the winner of this year’s Best in Show award,” said Chris Lanfear, Embedded Software Group Manager, Venture Development Corporation.
By winning the Best in Show award, I-Logix Rhapsody 6.0 established a first with the VDC “Embeddies”, as this is the first time that a new release of an existing product has received this award. Rhapsody 5.0 was previously recognized in 2004 by another market research firm, the Embedded Marketing Forecasters (EMF), as the best UML 2.0 solution available for the MDD marketplace. The Rhapsody 5.0 and 6.0 product’s recognition as the market leader by embedded systems market analysts for two consecutive years in 2004 and 2005 is unparallel for any product in this marketplace, and is based on delivering proven value to the systems engineers and software developers.
