Elma Electronic Rolls Out ATR Enclosures in New 1 1/2 Size
3/29/2005 - Elma Electronic Inc, a proven innovator of ruggedized, modular, COTS system platforms has expanded its ATR (Air Transport Rack) enclosures line with a new 1 1/2 size.
The 1 1/2 ATR allows up to 15 slots VME/VME64x/VXS or other backplanes in the top loaded 6U x 160mm card cage. The enclosure facilitates up to 800 watts of power, with 28VDC or optional AC input. The ATR features a Mil-grade high-performance Rotron fan, capable of providing over 15 CFM per slot at altitudes over 35000 feet and operating temperature of - 55 degrees C to 85 degrees C. This is an important consideration for mission-critical applications where conditions are extreme.
The ATR also offers a bottom patch-panel offers access to the P2 section of the backplane. This allows installing Raceway ++ options. Air baffles redirect and maximize airflow through the cards and the electrostatic air filter is easily removable. All Elma Electronic Inc, system platforms come fully assembled and wired offering a "turnkey" packaging solution.
Elma's standard ATR line is available in 1/2, 3/4, 1 and 1 1/2 ATR tall long formats per ARINC 404A specifications. The modular design concept allows for wide range customization options without the cost and lead-time penalties associated with traditional construction techniques. Designed to meet MIL-STD's 5400, 810E, 461E, 704A, 275A, the Elma ATR family is ideal for use with commercially available cards in airborne, ground mobile or shipboard applications. Conduction cooled ATRs are also available.
