Kontron Launches ATX-812 Multi-Expansion Function Industrial Motherboard

3/8/2005 - According to the forecast figures released by Venture Development Corp (VDC), the growth of industrial motherboard will rise up to 424 million US dollars from 2003 to 2007. It means that market share of industrial motherboard will grow. Leading global embedded computer technology company Kontron, foresees dramatic increases ahead and launches a full-function industrial motherboard - ATX-812. This targets high-end solution application, for example: enterprise server, medical, factory automation and military.

ATX-812 adapts Intel latest 90nm Pentium M(Dothan) processor with 855GME and 6300 ESB to support PCI-X expansion slots; 2 x DDR 333 SDRAM, up to 2 GB; embedded VGA function on Intel 855GME supporting CRT/LVDS/DVI, AC 97 audio, 2 x SATA (150 MB/sec); 4 x USB 2.0 expansion device; Gigabit Ethernet and Compact Flash.

The Intel Pentium M processor utilizes a new micro-architecture to meet the current and future demands of high-performance, low-power embedded computing, making it ideal for industrial automation applications and a variety of application.

Unique to this design, the ATX - 812 provides three types of expansion slots (ISA, PCI and PCI-X) to users. Users can choose and facilitate the expansion slots to become a multi-function industrial motherboard.

After intensive market comparisons, this board initiates to meet all requirements by the user. ATX-812 is the most facilitated multi-functional industrial motherboard in this industry. It supports expansion and I/O devices that out performs other designs in this market. Based on Intel's roadmap, Kontron in Asia will build and support a wide range of products for their communication platform.
