3/1/2005 - VaST Systems Technology Corporation announced the release of CoMET 5.7, which adds substantial new functionality to VaSTís fifth generation of electronic system level (ESL) tools. CoMET® is VaSTís electronic system level environment for the concurrent design and development of the hardware, software, mechanical and DSP subsystems of complex SoCs and embedded systems.
With CoMET, developers create virtual system prototypes in software working from high-level specifications as early as the architectural phase. The virtual system prototype is used for architecture design and analysis. CoMET allows designers to measure and visualize the quantitative impact of architectural decisions to help select the best architecture, thus enabling an architecture-driven design methodology.
The virtual system prototype becomes the golden reference model for the concurrent development of hardware and software. CoMET co-simulates with leading industry simulators, and CoMETís open architecture is designed to easily integrate into an existing tools flow.
