10/26/2005 - Digi International (NASDAQ: DGII) announced the availability of FieldServer Technologies' ProtoCessor Protocol Suite of building and industrial automation protocols with the NetSilicon NET+Works development environment and NET+ARM processors. FieldServer's ProtoCessor Protocol Suite provides the broadest set of building and industrial automation protocols available for enhancing communication between devices that utilize non-compatible data protocols.
"FieldServer's ProtoCessor Protocol Suite runs on top of our NET+Works development platform and device networking software making it easy for OEMs to network and control a wide variety of building and factory automation devices," said Bruce Berger, senior vice president, Digi International. "Our products are widely used in industrial and building automation applications, and this partnership greatly enhances and expands our offering."
The ProtoCessor Protocol Suite enables companies to easily deploy Ethernet and serial connectivity options throughout buildings and factories. It includes linkable libraries, an installation guide, fully documented API, sample source code and runs all NET+OS platforms. The suite includes Allen-Bradley CSP, EtherNet/IP, BACnet Ethernet, BACnet/IP, Modbus/TCP and GE-SRTP Ethernet drivers; and Allen-Bradley DF1, BACnet MSTP, BACnet PTP, JBus, Modbus ASCII, Modbus RTU, Modbus Tek-Air, and Metasys N2 Open serial drivers. FieldServer products using these libraries are certified by Modbus, BACnet and ODVA compliance organizations.
According to NET+Works customer John Fallon, marketing manager, Cylon: "The ProtoCessor Protocol Suite running on top of the NET+Works development kit made it easy to implement BACnet IP in our Unitron UC32 HVAC controller. We did so in record time compared to other BACnet source code solutions."
ProtoCessor Protocol runs across Digi's entire family of Digi Connect® boxes, modules and NetSilicon NET+ARM processors. Supported by FieldServer Technologies, the ProtoCessor Protocol Suite is available for $6,000 which includes 1 year of support and maintenance.
"Customized versions of the ProtoCessor Protocol Suite are also available making it even easier for customers to implement automation applications," said Edward Hague, Chief Technology Officer, FieldServer Technologies. "We're excited to partner with Digi International and look forward to marketing this offering to our extensive customer base."
