I-Logix Statemate Model-Driven Development Tool Powers Automotive Win

10/13/2005 - I-Logix announced the company's largest single transaction, totaling over $2 million to one of Japan's largest Automotive Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), who selected Statemate, the leading Model-Driven Development (MDD) environment as their primary systems and software modeling tool. In their latest major technology investment, the carmaker purchased a complete Statemate suite of MDD tool solutions, including Statemate Developer and Analyzer, ModelCertifier, Automatic Test Generation (ATG), Statemate Documentor and Statemate Micro C-Code Generator.

"The more than $2 million purchase of I-Logix technology to build next-generation vehicles validates the ready acceptance of our automotive solutions and is a testament to our growing success in the Japanese market," Gene Robinson, CEO I-Logix, said.

The Japanese automotive manufacturer purchased I-Logix solutions for use at key engineering centers around the world, leveraging their investment as a global initiative for the use of MDD and formal verification of complex automotive systems and software. Using the array of I-Logix solutions they purchased, the automotive manufacturer can eliminate costly errors before they are implemented on an ECU, thereby gaining a quality standard previously considered unattainable in the automotive industry. Consequently, follow-on business from downstream suppliers has occurred as a result of the sale. Suppliers are making large investments in I-Logix tools, benefiting the OEM with seamless model handoffs, for a more streamlined, cohesive development and manufacturing processes.
