International HD Radio Certification Center Opens in Japan

1/7/2005 - iBiquity Digital Corporation, the sole developer of digital HD RadioTM technology, and TOKO Inc., a leading manufacturer of electronic components and modules, announced the opening of an International HD Radio Certification Center at the TOKO facility in Saitama, Japan. The new International Certification Center will provide technical support and product certification services for licensed HD Radio consumer electronics partners.

Under the arrangement, engineers from TOKO will test and evaluate HD Radio products according to the same rigorous criteria used at iBiquity’s certification facility in Maryland. The data will subsequently be aggregated and provided to iBiquity for certification of the product or device.

“The opening of an international HD Radio Certification Center will help make the certification process much more timely and convenient, especially for our Asian-based manufacturers, and will speed time-to-market for HD Radio products,” said Jeffrey Jury, COO, iBiquity Digital Corporation.

“TOKO was an early supporter of the HD Radio technology and was the first company to provide a production HD Radio decoding module (TME1217),” said David Hale, national sales manager, TOKO. “The opening of the International Certification Center will allow us to provide enhanced service to our customer base while at the same time helping build relationships with future customers who are seeking a more convenient way to certify their HD Radio products.”
