1/6/2005 - TAK Imaging, a leading provider of dedicated imaging solutions, said that Konica Minolta has selected its TAKPRO-800 SOC (system-on-chip) for the new magicolor(R) 2430 DL, a pacesetting personal color laser printer for fast and affordable color and monochrome printing.
"The TAK Imaging solution helped us deliver a highly affordable laser printer with no compromises in performance, color print quality and imaging functionality including direct, PC-less printing from a digital camera or camcorder via a USB connection," said Kei Hyodo, manager of the Konica Minolta Systems Laboratory in Foster City, Calif.
According to TAK Imaging CEO, Doug Goodyear, the TAKPRO-800 was specifically aimed at meeting the increasingly price-sensitive and performance-driven needs for color printing in the office and SOHO market. "It is exciting to see printers like the magicolor(R) 2430 DL proliferate color printing with new levels of economy and usability," Goodyear said.
The TAKPRO-800 is a powerful solution incorporating an open, PCI-based raster printer architecture that optimizes quick, high quality color output and minimizes printer warm up time. One of the fastest SOCs available for imaging applications based on current industry specifications, the TAKPRO-800 integrates all system, networking, compression and communications functions in a single solution providing an unparalleled combination of high-performance processing and functionality.
"The TAKPRO-800 is a totally integrated, high performance, low cost solution for the Office and SOHO Laser Market," said Christian Joly, SVP of Marketing and Business Development. "TAK Imaging is going to expand its leadership position to the consumer printer market with ground-breaking products coming up this year."
