Tektronix Receives Ultimate Product Award for TDS6000B Oscilloscope

9/30/2004 - Tektronix, Inc. (NYSE: TEK), a leading worldwide provider of test, measurement and monitoring instrumentation, announced that the TDS6000B family of digital storage oscilloscopes has been selected by the editors and readers of EE Times and eeProductCenter as the Ultimate Product in the Test & Measurement category for the second quarter of 2004. The story appears online at eeproductcenter.com.

Each quarter the editors of EE Times and eeProductCenter select the top ten new products in each of seven or more product categories. Using an electronic balloting mechanism that allows readers to read the editorial review on eeProductCenter, EE Times polls qualified readers on the "technical significance" and "usability" of those products. Last quarter, the TDS5000B was selected as the "Ultimate Product" in the category. This quarter, the same award has been earned by the TDS6000B.

"Engineers weigh a number of factors when determining what they believe to be the best products," said Marty Gold, Executive Editor, eeProductCenter. "As often as possible they look to their peers for suggestions and recommendations. The Ultimate Product selection process helps engineers to more readily find peer reviews. This quarter, the Tektronix TDS6000B received an outstanding response from readers and emerged as the clear choice in the Test & Measurement category."

"We are very pleased with the market acceptance of the TDS6000B family," said Colin Shepard, Vice President, Oscilloscope Products, Tektronix, Inc. "This award from the editors and readers of EE Times and eeProductCenter reflects the many positive comments we have received from our customers. This award is a byproduct of listening to customer needs for more performance and engineering productivity. We will continue this tradition and hopefully win many more Ultimate Product awards."

About the TDS6000B
The TDS6000B Series consists of the TDS6804B and TDS6604B, featuring bandwidths of 8 GHz and 6 GHz respectively. With the TDS6804B, the user can select between 7 GHz analog bandwidth and an 8 GHz Digital Signal Processing (DSP) enhancement. The bandwidth choice provides customers with both the high analog bandwidth needed to capture today's high-speed signals as well as the magnitude and phase compensation of DSP needed to preserve the best signal amplitude and integrity at full sample rate.

The TDS6000B features a unique PinpointTM triggering feature using a dual A- & B-triggering system that enables over 1400 trigger combinations. For customers who need to "zero-in" on fault conditions in debug applications and specific waveform areas of interest for signal integrity and data acquisition applications, the new TDS6000B enables them to quickly isolate, capture and analyze events of interest using a unique dual triggering system that allows both A- and B-triggers to be mixed and qualified into almost any sequential logic combination. The dual trigger combinations offered by Tektronix' TDS6000B Pinpoint triggering system give the user the ultimate flexibility in triggering on high speed digital signals, enabling even the most elusive events to be captured.
