NetMotion Mobility Joins Intermec's ISV Partner Program

8/13/2004 - Intermec Technologies Corp. named NetMotion Wireless Inc. to its Independent Software Vendor (ISV) Partner Program for Computers and Communications. The ISV program supports and rewards independent software vendors that create software applications and tools that extend the powerful computing, communications and data capture capabilities of Intermec devices.

Mobility XETM, NetMotion Wireless’ award-winning software, allows mobile workers to get connected and stay connected to mission-critical application over wireless networks. The platform is available on Intermec 700 Color Series mobile computers and features server pooling, load balancing, automated failover and a Mobility Management Console that provides web-based access to full management functionality. With Mobility XE, no additional development is required to provide wireless access to legacy applications, even over wide area wireless networks, and network performance is improved by as much as 100 percent.

“The Mobility XE platform relieves Intermec customers of the burden and expense of mobile application development and provides them with the freedom to easily create and manage network policies,” said Intermec Vice President Mike Colwell. “NetMotion Wireless has the same focus as Intermec; enabling the mobile worker. The company makes an outstanding addition to our team of independent software vendor partners.”

“NetMotion Wireless is proud to be selected as an Intermec Independent Software Vendor,” said Steve Cullen, NetMotion Wireless chief executive. “Our relationship with Intermec is another indication that NetMotion Mobility is becoming an important element in enterprise mobile computing. Through Mobility XE, Intermec 700 Color device users can tap into tried and true legacy applications without any additional development. And mobile users are assured a persistent connection with their host environment. No rebooting to regain communications with the server, no dropped lines or lost data if there is a blink in wireless service.”
