Measurement Computing Offers Lower Cost Alternative to NI's PCI-6031E

8/12/2004 - Measurement Computing Corporation announced the release of the PCI-DAS6031 board. The PCI-DAS6031’s $1225 price makes it an attractive alternative to the NI PCI-6031E, which sells for $1795. The PCI-DAS6031 offers specifications identical to the NI board and costs $570 (31.8%) less. Compare the PCI-DAS6031 to NI’s PCI-6031E and you’ll see that “The only difference is the price^TM."

The PCI-DAS6031 provides 64 single-ended / 32 differential channels of 16-bit (one part in 65536) analog input. Measurements on any of 14 input ranges may be taken at rates up to 100 kilosamples per second. It also provides dual 16-bit analog outputs with 100 kS/s per channel update rates. Eight digital bi-directional I/O lines can control relays and solenoids, and can monitor switch and contact closures. The board also provides two 16-bit counter/timers.

The board is fully supported by LabVIEW^TM, SoftWIRE®, Agilent VEE^TM and MATLAB®. Users wishing to program in Visual Basic, C#, C++ or any other popular language can use Measurement Computing’s powerful Universal Library (UL). UL speeds the programming task with high-level, easy-to-use functions, but doesn’t sacrifice the user’s ability to access all the board’s functionality, or access low-level functions your application may require.

The PCI-DAS6031 is part of a growing family of significantly lower priced alternatives to National Instruments’ E-series/PCI-6000 boards. All of the boards in the family offer the same specifications as their NI counterparts, and are offered at twenty-five to thirty percent lower prices.
