Existing TDS7000B customers can now download the Pinpoint triggering system software as part of a firmware upgrade from www.tektronix.com/software at no charge.

Pinpoint Triggering Offers TDS7000B Customers Broadest Capabilities
Pinpoint triggering enables users to quickly isolate, capture and analyze events of interest by using both A- and B-triggers mixed and qualified into almost any sequential logic combination. More than 1400 trigger combinations are possible. This capability is ideal for customers who need to "zero-in" on specific waveform areas of interest for signal integrity and data acquisition applications and fault conditions in debug applications. The dual trigger combinations offered by Tektronix' Pinpoint triggering system give the user the ultimate flexibility in triggering on high speed digital signals, enabling even the most elusive events to be captured. With the Pinpoint triggering system, users can trigger on events previously impossible to detect. With the fast waveform capture rate (up 400,000 wfms/s) already present in the TDS7000B Series, the addition of Pinpoint triggering further enhances the productivity of the world's best troubleshooting scopes.
Pinpoint triggering on the TDS7704B provides ultra low trigger jitter - less than 1.2ps rms trigger jitter (typical) and less than 170ps (typical) glitch capture for isolating events of interest with industry-leading accuracy. And, it is the only triggering system that provides full capabilities and flexibility on both A- and B-triggers with high accuracy and at such high speed.
