Mindready Flies IEEE-1394b VME Bridges to FlightSafety International

7/19/2004 - Mindready Solutions Inc., a leader in IEEE-1394 / FireWire® hardware, software and engineering services for embedded systems, announces the delivery of IEEE-1394b VME bridges to FlightSafety International, a world leading flight simulator manufacturer for use in its latest generation of flight simulators.

The IEEE-1394b VME bridges will act as interfaces between the simulator cockpit and the simulators’ different peripherals, as well as the trainers’ monitoring station, among others. These interfaces enable real-time data acquisition, which ensures the simulator’s precise response to the trainee’s commands.

“Real-time is a key concept when you are training future pilots for any eventuality, whether in commercial, corporate, private or military aircraft. Mindready Solutions’ 1394 technology allows the precision needed for such tasks, while the 1394 network bandwidth enables the simultaneous processing of the large amounts of information required to conduct realistic simulations,” said Claude Delage, Mindready Solutions’ President and CEO.

“FlightSafety International has built a long-standing relationship with Mindready Solutions, and migrating from the IEEE-1394a to IEEE-1394b VME bridges will ensure that our simulators are at the cutting edge of technology in this field,” said Ron Jantzen, Director of Engineering for FlightSafety International.
