7/15/2004 - Compuware Corporation (NASDAQ: CPWR) announced that Compuware DevPartner Studio Professional Edition and Compuware Vantage have each won a Best of Microsoft Tech•Ed Europe 2004 Award at Windows & .NET Magazine and SQL Server Magazine’s 1st Annual Best of Microsoft Tech•Ed Europe 2004 Awards. Winners were announced during a special awards ceremony held on July 1, 2004 during the Microsoft Tech•Ed Europe 2004 Conference in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
From a field of more than 70 entries, Compuware DevPartner Studio Professional Edition was selected as the unprecedented and prestigious winner of the “Overall Best of Tech•Ed Europe 2004 Award.” This award recognized DevPartner Studio as the most significant and innovative product exhibited at the conference.
“Compuware DevPartner Studio provides integrated error analysis and performance testing, along with source code and syntax checking. It enforces best practices for coding by using a rules-based development environment, all seamlessly integrated within Microsoft Visual Studio,” said Mike Otey, Senior Technical Editor for Windows & .NET Magazine and SQL Server Magazine. “It allows fine-tuning of code through detailed application profiling before moving to a live environment.”
Compuware Vantage also took top honors, winning a Best of Tech•Ed Europe 2004 Award in the “Systems Management” category. “Compuware Vantage provides end-to-end performance monitoring and troubleshooting capabilities for any IT professional’s networked applications,” said Otey. “Its easy-to-use graphical interface enables the administrator to set and evaluate compliance to SLAs as well as identify performance problems, and drill down to discover the source of client, network, and server performance issues. It offers the ability to work with any application including user-written applications.”
The Best of Microsoft Tech•Ed Europe 2004 Awards are given to companies who deliver innovative products and services that enhance and extend the capabilities of the Microsoft platform. Windows & .NET Magazine editors evaluate organizations based on their solution’s strategic importance in the market, competitive advantage and value to the customer. After naming finalists prior to the show, judges for Windows & .NET Magazine made final selections by observing product demonstrations during the week of the conference.
“This is an extraordinary honor for our DevPartner and Vantage products,” said Bob Barker, Vice President of Strategic Planning at Compuware Corporation. “These awards underscore the global strength and leadership our application lifecycle solutions deliver to enterprises, enabling them to build, test and manage high-quality applications using Microsoft technologies.”
Compuware DevPartner Studio Professional Edition provides an award-winning suite of features that help software professionals accelerate the development of reliable, high-performance applications and components for Microsoft .NET as well as native Windows platforms. Building new .NET applications that may integrate with native components is prone to integration and migration problems, coding errors and poor performance, especially if those application components are distributed across multiple systems. Compuware DevPartner Studio enables developers to locate errors early, to tune runtime performance and to assure thorough testing of applications written in .NET, native code or a combination of the two.
Compuware Vantage is an application service management solution that helps IT organizations manage application performance from the perspective that matters most: the end-user. Response-time metrics, integrated with end-to-end performance analysis, enable IT managers to proactively identify and rapidly resolve tough performance problems. By managing applications at the business, transaction and infrastructure level, Compuware Vantage provides the critical insight needed to improve application service and maximize value from application and infrastructure investments.
