7/15/2004 - Marimba, Inc. (Nasdaq: MRBA) announced that Marimba's Client (Desktop/Mobile) Management and Server Management product lines have been awarded Common Criteria Evaluation Assurance Level 3 (EAL3) certification. This certification assures government agencies that Marimba's Client and Server Management products have gone through testing and analysis and conform to standards sanctioned by the National Information Assurance Partnership (NIAP) Common Criteria evaluation and validation scheme (CCEVS). Marimba's Client Management and Server Management products are the first software change and configuration management solutions to achieve EAL3 certification. More information about CCEVS and validated products is located at: http://niap.nist.gov/cc-scheme/vpl/vpl_type.html.
"SAIC is pleased to add Marimba's Client Management and Server Management product lines to the list of Common Criteria products evaluated by the SAIC CCTL at the EAL Level 3 for Common Criteria (ISO/IEC 15408) Standard for IT Security Evaluation," said Robert Williamson, SAIC CCTL Director. "This certification highlights Marimba's commitment to providing IT security that withstands the scrutiny of third-party analysis and testing. SAIC's conclusions were based on analysis of the product security functions using Marimba's functional specification, guidance documentation, and high-level design, and the analysis was supported by SAIC's independent testing of many of the security functions, evidence from Marimba testing, and evidence of Marimba's search for vulnerabilities."
"This certification validates the security of Marimba's software, which is essential in the effort to protect public- and private-sector IT assets with secure desktop, laptop, device, and server management solutions," said Rich Wyckoff, Marimba's president and CEO. "Agencies require software management solutions that can adhere to strict regulatory standards to guard against unwarranted attacks on their IT Infrastructure. Marimba is well positioned to provide both public and private agencies with secure solutions that have been developed and designed to adhere to critical security levels - EAL3 validated and certified."
