(NASDAQ: CNXT), the worldwide leader in semiconductor solutions for broadband communications, enterprise networks and the digital home, introduced a new, low-deployment cost customer premise equipment (CPE) chipset addressing the emerging ADSL2 and ADSL2plus markets. The new VikingTM II Plus chipset offers bridging and router configurations to optimize system cost while allowing service providers to significantly reduce overall deployment costs. The fully programmable solution provides an upgrade path from a single platform, enabling service providers to seamlessly migrate to ADSL2 and ADSL2plus without hardware modifications. The Viking II Plus chipset family is backward compatible with all ADSL standards and provides industry-leading performance and interoperability with all major deployed digital subscriber line access multiplexers (DSLAMs).
