6/24/2004 - MontaVista Software, Inc and Motorola, Inc. (NYSE: MOT) announced a formal OEM relationship agreement between the two companies, which will enable the shipment of Motorola’s Application-Enabling Platforms pre-installed with MontaVista® Linux® Carrier Grade Edition (CGE).
Motorola and MontaVista Software will demonstrate the new platforms at booth # 13800 at SUPERCOMM 2004, McCormick Place, Chicago, IL, June 22-24, 2004.
Motorola will be shipping AdvancedTCA and CompactPCI Application-Enabling Platforms pre-loaded with CGE. The Basic Integrated Platforms operating environment includes the operating system, comprehensive hardware platform management, and fabric management in conjunction with verified power and thermal profiles. The Basic Integrated Platforms also include Linux Support Packages that integrate CGE with the underlying hardware environment. These standards-based, pre-integrated and validated platforms provide equipment manufacturers the opportunity to focus on the core competencies that set them apart from the competition.
