Pinnacle Data Systems Showcases AdvancedTCA Ecosystem at SUPERCOMM

6/23/2004 - Pinnacle Data Systems, Inc. (PDSi) (AMEX: PNS), announced that it will demonstrate the state-of-art functionality of the newly ratified PICMG® 3.x standard, also known as AdvancedTCA®, this week at the SUPERCOMM 2004 show June 21-23 in Chicago’s McCormick Center. PDSi, along with over 25 other participants of the AdvancedTCA® Showcase, will display leading-edge products and their ability to interoperate with each other. The AdvancedTCA® Showcase is located in booth number 13540.

PDSi’s base platform, the TS2100, will be linked to other platforms via a wireless system management network while it independently demonstrates an integrated stack of operating systems and applications. The demonstration will include Intel® dual Xeon®-based AdvancedTCA® blades running both Sun Microsystems® Solaris® 9 for x86 and Linux®.

PDSi will also be highlighting the distributed nature and high-availability capabilities of AdvancedTCA®. Through a demonstration using Solid Information Technology’s Carrier-Grade Data Management product suite, including Solid BoostEngineTM, Solid Carrier-GradeTM and Solid SmartFlowTM and GoAhead® Software’s SelfReliant® 3.0 five nines high availability application management suite, PDSi will demonstrate the power of this new standard by showing live failovers of memory-resident databases. This functionality is critical to emerging and traditional telecommunications applications such as HLRs, SCPs, and IP-based telephony.

Chris Winslow, Vice President, PDSi, said, “Many of our customers have a strong interest in deploying their applications on the AdvancedTCA® platform. PDSi is investing in the development of a best-of-breed portfolio of integrated and tested solutions to allow organizations the ability to rapidly bring products to the market.”
