6/21/2004 - Eurotech announced it will soon release a new embedded Celeron processor module with Gigabit Ethernet functionality - the CPU-1453.
This new Eurotech CPU module will take advantage of high-speed communication capabilities delivered from its onboard Gigabit Ethernet controller, making the CPU-1453 an ideal solution for high-speed networking (i.e.: intelligent switches, routers, media gateways) and bandwidth-intensive applications, such as video streaming and video on demand (VOD) services. It will feature very low power consumption and not require any fan cooling to accommodate the requirements of embedded computing devices.
The CPU-1453 will feature the new Ultra Low Voltage (ULV) BGA Celeron® 400MHz processor and integrate Intelís fourth-generation Gigabit MAC design to provide a standard IEEE 802.3 Ethernet interface for 1000BASE-T, 100BASE-TX, and 10BASE-T applications (802.3ab, 802.3u, and 802.3). The board will be capable of transmitting and receiving data at rates of 1000 Mbps, 100 Mbps, or 10 Mbps. In addition to managing MAC and PHY layer functions, the product will provide a 32-bit wide direct PCI 2.2 compliant interface capable of operating at 33 MHz.
The CPU-1453 will be mechanically based around two modules: a mezzanine CPU module, stacked on top of a PC/104-Plus form factor carrier. The mezzanine CPU module will feature the 400MHz Tualatin 0.13Ķm Celeron processor and an Intel® 815E chipset with 100MHz maximum bus frequency. Up to 128MB (256MB upon request) of SDRAM memory- PC100/133 - will be soldered onboard. The carrier, besides integrating a Gigabit Ethernet controller, will feature 4 USB ports, 2 Serial ports, 1 AC97 BUS, Auxiliary Power, Keyboard and Mouse connectors and an Ultra ATA IDE controller that supports any type of IDE Flash devices (DiskonModule®, CompactFlash® and Flash Disk).
The CPU-1453 will also provide support for Watchdog management and a Real Time Clock (external backup battery) and can be customized to meet specific customer needs.
