Artesyn Communication Showcases TEMS Technology at SuperComm

6/18/2004 - Artesyn Communication Products, a division of Artesyn Technologies (Nasdaq: ATSN), announced that it will be demonstrating industry leading technologies for TEMS (Telecom Equipment Manufacturers) at the upcoming SuperComm Conference at McCormick Place in Chicago from June 20 through 24, 2004. In addition to hosting its own booth in the South Hall (#28013), Artesyn will participate in the PICMG AdvancedTCA (ATCA) Showcase (North Hall #13540), display a new ATCA/AMC carrier card in the Intel booth (North Hall #12335), and join a June 23 panel discussion focusing on ATCA as it relates to service providers.

“Artesyn is an established leader in PICMG 2.16 and PMC board-level telecom solutions,” said Todd Wynia, vice president of marketing at Artesyn Communication Products. “We are also at the forefront of bringing real world ATCA/AMC solutions to market, and the only company to offer an ATCA carrier with AMC mezzanine sites. At SuperComm, we will be showcasing a range of open architecture telecom solutions, including our PICMG 2.16 telecom blades and high-density SIGTRAN gateway. But the spotlight will be on our ATMC/AMC solutions, which we believe will power the next-generation of open architecture, scaleable, high-availability packet processing systems.”

Artesyn will showcase a variety of current and next-generation products at its South Hall booth and demonstrate how IPMI (Intelligent Platform Management Interface) can be used to enhance system management in CompactPCI, PICMG 2.16, and ATCA systems. These new products will include:

At the AdvancedTCA Showcase, Artesyn will demonstrate hot swap technology using its new octal ATCA/AMC carrier card. Artesyn will also provide an ATCA/AMC tutorial and show its new dual-processor ATCA board, which provides four PTMC sites.

On Wednesday, June 23, Todd Wynia, vice president of marketing for Artesyn’s Communications Products Division, will participate as a panelist in a discussion on AdvancedTCA and it’s relevance to carriers entitled, "What's in it for the Service Providers?" This discussion will also be webcast and can be accessed from the SuperComm web site.
