6/18/2004 - Paradyne (NASDAQ: PDYN), announced that Russian mega-regional telecommunications carrier JSC Dalsvyaz has selected Paradyne’s DSL access equipment for deployment of IP-based broadband services to business and residential subscribers.
JSC Dalsvyaz is a subsidiary of Svyaznivest – one of the world’s largest telecommunications companies – and is one of seven incumbent carriers in Russia, providing service throughout Russia’s Far East. Dalsvyaz has begun deployment of 15,000 lines of DSL using Paradyne’s Broadband Access Concentrators and DSL modems.
A key challenge faced by Dalsvyaz was the number of diverse networks in its system, including both ATM and IP infrastructures, and a wide range of copper plant wireline conditions.
