6/14/2004 - Eurotech announces that a new rugged and low-cost PCI-104 form-factor CPU module will soon be released: the CPU-1850.
This new Eurotech single board computer will be developed around the PCI-104 bus. PCI-104 is a PCI-only architecture that accommodates the advances of PCI devices and the advantage of the high-speed PCI bus in a small rugged form factor.
Designed to operate reliably in harsh environmental conditions, including vibration and extreme temperature ranges, the CPU-1850 will be an inexpensive solution suitable for transportation, aerospace, and military applications.
The CPU-1850 will feature the new Ultra Low Voltage BGA Celeron® 400MHz processor and its Intel® 815E chipset with 100MHz maximum bus frequency. With very low power consumption, the Celeron processor will not require any fan cooling, which will make it especially suited for embedded computing applications. A SODIMM memory socket will be integrated onboard, enabling up to 256MB of PC100-133 SDRAM to be installed.
This CPU module will feature 4 USB ports, 1 Fast Ethernet interface (10/100Mbps), 2 Serial ports, 1 Parallel port, 1 Floppy port, 1 VGA interface, LVDS LCD/Flat panel interface, 1 AC97 BUS, Auxiliary Power, Keyboard and Mouse connectors and an Ultra DMA IDE controller that supports any type of IDE Flash devices (DiskonModule®, CompactFlash® and Flash Disk).
The CPU-1850 will also provide support for Watchdog management and a Real Time Clock (external backup battery) and can be customized to meet specific customer needs.
