Accelerated Technology's Nucleus PLUS Supports ADI's ADSP-21161 SHARC DSP

6/10/2004 - Accelerated Technology(r), the Embedded Systems Division of Mentor Graphics Corporation (NASDAQ: MENT), announced the release of the Nucleus(r) PLUS real-time kernel for the SHARC(r) ADSP-21161 Processor from Analog Devices, Inc (ADI). Embedded developers using the SHARC ADSP-21161 now have a royalty-free solution in which to build a variety of digital signal processing-intensive applications.

A member of ADI's second-generation SHARC Processor family, the ADSP-21161 provides highly optimized 32-bit floating-point performance to complement the scalable and fast Nucleus PLUS kernel and gives users a powerful solution for the development of their embedded applications. Additionally, the source code and no-royalty business model from Accelerated Technology provides maximum value for developers building high-volume, price-sensitive applications.

"Analog Devices is pleased that Accelerated Technology has extended its support of the SHARC architecture by porting the Nucleus PLUS kernel to the ADSP-21161 processor," said Colin Duggan, product line manager for Audio Platforms within ADI's DSPS Division. "As time to market is a key element for today's product developers, the availability of this efficient, real-time operating system allows our mutual customers to quickly deliver robust embedded applications."

"This release of the Nucleus PLUS kernel for the ADSP-21161 DSP, the latest in a number of DSP ports of the Nucleus software, emphasizes our commitment to the needs of embedded developers in the DSP market," said Robert Day, director of marketing, Mentor Graphics Embedded Systems Division.

The Nucleus PLUS real-time kernel is highly scalable with a small memory footprint, providing efficient, high-performance task management, inter-task communication and synchronization and component query features for developers using the SHARC ADSP-21161.
