6/7/2004 - I-Logix, a leading embedded systems and software solutions provider, announced that Toshiba Information Systems (JAPAN) Corporation (TJ), a leading manufacturer and supplier of embedded software solutions, has been selected as a distributor of Rhapsody in Japan.
"TJ is delighted to have established a partnership with I-Logix in order to provide world leading embedded software development tools and services to it's customers in Japan," said Keiichi Ishikawa, TJ’s Vice President and General Manager of Embedded Systems Solution Division (ITS & Mobile Communications).
Under the terms of the Agreement, TJ will resell the Rhapsody product line to embedded device manufacturers seeking improved cost and quality measures through the use of object-oriented design technology. In addition to the Distribution Agreement, TJ will integrate Rhapsody into their own Embedded Systems Division solutions, extending their capabilities as embedded software development consultants for companies that manufacture devices such as cellular phones, consumer electronics products, automotive navigation systems, and digital home appliances.
"We are proud to establish this mutually beneficial relationship with a world-class company such as Toshiba Information Systems," said Patrick Regester, Vice President of International Operations at I-Logix. "Their strong embedded development experience and breadth of distribution capability will ensure that Rhapsody continues to achieve market dominance in the Japanese marketplace. Instituting this reseller Agreement in Japan reaffirms our commitment to effectively provide the industry-leading UML 2.0 compliant MDD solution, Rhapsody, to a global audience."
Rhapsody is a UML 2.0 based Model-Driven Development solution that fully integrates and automates the systems and software engineering processes and tasks in order to achieve a fully deployable system to allow both functional oriented and object oriented design techniques to co-exist in one environment. It allows embedded software engineers to analyze, design, implement, and test UML-based applications graphically. Production-quality code is automatically generated as the design evolves and graphical animation allows design diagrams on the development host to be debugged before testing the software on the target. This capability enables reuse at the design level and compresses the overall development cycle. Rhapsody has an open architecture that enables interfacing to leading requirements traceability, configuration management, and testing tools.
