5/26/2004 - Insignia Solutions® (NASDAQ: INSG), announced it has signed a definitive agreement with Teleca to combine it's industry leading Over-The-Air RepairTM technology with Teleca's IOTA client products to benefit mobile operators and users worldwide. IOTA (IP-based over-the-air activation) is a CDMA industry standard developed by members of the CDMA Development Group that allows the network to provision the device with all the parameters required for the subscriber to access all available services in a secure manner.
Through this agreement, Insignia will adapt its newly announced Open Management Client product with Teleca to enable tens of millions of CDMA phones running on operator networks around the world to securely and quickly update firmware elements of the phone while leveraging the IOTA standard. The IOTA standard is used in millions of phones on operator networks in the United States, Latin America, China and Japan.
