Elan Rolls Out EM78P468N Low-Cost, High-Speed 8-bit RISC MCU

5/25/2004 - When it comes to microcontrollers, Elan Microelectronics is famous for reducing overall system costs while improving the performance of applications. A good example is their newly introduced 8-bit high speed RISC EM78P468 OTP MCU with on-chip LCD driver.

The Elan EM78P468N industrial range microcontroller is for industrial and consumer products, as well as battery powered applications requiring a low-cost MCU with on-chip LCD driver capable of controlling displays up to 4x32 (COMxSEG). The EM78P468N, as with all Elan products, also comes with Europe-based technical support.

Elan Microelectronics offers the EM78P468N with 4k of OTP ROM and 128 bytes of RAM. The MCUs can function with a 2.2V to 5.5V supply, and comes with flexible I/O ports, including up to 28 bi-directional I/O, 9 interrupt sources (7 internal and 2 external) to ensure the highest flexibility of design. Embedded features such as 8-bit PWM generator / IR output, 4 sets of 8 bit auto reload counter/timer, programmable free running on chip WDT with auto-wakeup from Idle mode capability, perfectly suitable for Industrial and consumer products requiring -40°C to +85°C operating temperature range. Elan EM78P468N supports dual clock operation or PLL operation mode.

All development tools are available and can be ordered from our local distributors (www.elan-europe.com/distributor) or via support@elan-europe.com

Elan’s EM78P468N microcontroller is perfect for controlling a host of consumer, automotive and industrial products — everything from home appliances, remote controls, industrial control and security systems to remote sensors and metering applications.
