Seiko Epson Utilizes Peerless for New Monochrome Laser Products

5/21/2004 - Peerless Systems Corporation (Nasdaq: PRLS), a provider of imaging and networking controllers to the digital document market, announced that the Company has provided integration services along with Adobe® PostScript® certification and licensing services for Seiko Epson Corporation (EPSON).

“This project is a clear demonstration of Peerless’ ability to work as an OEM partner in providing integration services and expertise to deliver unique products to the market,” said Steve Robinson, vice president of marketing and sales of Peerless®. “As part of a long standing relationship between EPSON and Peerless, these new monochrome laser products, the EPSON EPL-6200, EPS-N7000 and EPL-N3000, are the latest in a line of over 30 products the companies have jointly developed.”

As one of the prime providers of Adobe PostScript integration, certification and licensing services outside of Adobe, Peerless is uniquely positioned to offer OEM vendors true Adobe PostScript that is unrivaled by clone competition and at competitive prices. As a result of the quality and superior technology delivered by Peerless, EPSON is breaking new ground offering true Adobe PostScript as the standard in these monochrome products. The additions to the EPSON laser family include products ranging in speed from 20 to 35 pages per minute, and up to 1200 dots per inch (dpi) resolution.

Peerless established its ‘Adobe Center of Excellence’, at its Peerless Systems Imaging Products (PSIP) location. There, vendors can access Peerless Adobe PostScript integration services. By leveraging Peerless’ expertise, vendors can develop products with a faster time to market thereby freeing up their own internal resources to be applied to other development tasks, and complete a project with greater cost effectiveness.

“EPSON is very pleased to continue its work with Peerless. The expertise and seamless relationship with the PSIP team has made achieving our goals easier,” said Mr. Isao Nomura, LP Design, Seiko Epson Corporation. “These new products continue a strong tradition that spans five years of development with Peerless and continually improving the EPSON family of laser printers.”
