5/20/2004 - SD Times named Metrowerks Corporation as one of the world’s top 100 companies and influencers in the software development industry during 2003.
“Each year, the editors of BZ Media's SD Times 100 look for companies which set the technical and market leadership for the software development industry," said Alan Zeichick, editor-in-chief, SD Times. "When choosing the 2004 SD Times 100, we carefully considered each organization's offerings and reputation with developers, as well as the attention and conversation we've heard around the company and its products and technologies, as a sign of leadership within the industry."
During 2003, Metrowerks completed its transformation from a facilitator of application creation to an end-to-end resource for embedded development. While organically growing its business to include hardware design and professional service offerings, Metrowerks capitalized on its late-2002 key technology acquisitions of Applied Microsystems Corporation and EmbedixTM Inc., formerly Lineo, with successful launches of run control and application analysis tools for a range of platforms and processors. Metrowerks also strengthened its reputation as a leader in embedded LinuxTM markets with groundbreaking new technologies that speed and simplify the creation of Linux-based devices.
The second annual SD Times 100 list appeared in the May 15 issue of the publication and is posted on the SD Times Web site, www.sdtimes.com.
