5/19/2004 - VaST Systems Technology Corporation announced that they are demonstrating support for the StarCore® architecture in StarCoreís booth at Embedded Processor Forum (EPF) on May 17-20 in San Jose, California. A VaST virtual prototype of the StarCore SC2000 processor is planned for release in the third quarter of 2004.
The two companies announced in March their collaboration on a high-performance, accurate software model of the StarCore SC1200 processor to speed wireless and consumer electronics time to market (http://www.vastsystems.com/news_pr01.html). At EPF, VaST will be demonstrating how embedded software designers can use VaSTís CoMET System Engineering Environment to test and validate software such as RTOSs, drivers and applications, before actual silicon is available. For example, engineers can model power usage to measure battery drain and make tradeoffs in power, performance and cost Ė key factors in wireless system design Ė all before the hardware exists.
VaST Systems Technology Corporation provides electronic system design and real-time embedded software development tools. VaSTís architectural design and virtual prototyping tools and software-simulation-based models enable true concurrent development of the hardware and software components of complex embedded systems and systems-on-chip (SoCs). VaSTís products deliver both high speed and accuracy under actual real-time software loads. VaSTís products improve time to market and quality, and reduce development costs and risk.
Current customers include world leaders in semiconductors, automotive electronics, wireless devices and consumer electronics. VaST is headquartered in Sunnyvale, California with sales and support offices worldwide. For more information, visit www.vastsystems.com.
