Sharp to Integrate M-Systems' SuperMAP Cryptographic Co-Processors

5/18/2004 - M-Systems (Nasdaq: FLSH) announced that the Company has entered into a collaboration arrangement with the Integrated Circuits Group of Sharp Corp. (Tokyo Stock Exchange #6753).

Sharp will integrate M-Systems' SuperMAPTM cryptographic coprocessors within secure semiconductor products, which Sharp shall manufacture and make available to various markets.

"Our best-of- breed security solutions will help Sharp to assure its market- leading status," said Dan Dariel, manager of M-Systems' Fortress Security Division. "We are excited to have been chosen to secure their semiconductor products and believe that our state-of-the art family of crypto coprocessors will enable them to provide a rich array of features that are made possible with the highest security levels, such as those found within SuperMAP."

The SuperMAP family of cryptographic coprocessor cores implements sophisticated public key cryptography such as RSA and Elliptic Curve (with single step multiply and divide), as well as conventional data encryption algorithms. These patented, unique cores execute cryptographic functions in hardware while being driven by software. With its optimal security (i.e. SPA/DPA), performance, size and power consumption levels, M-Systems' SuperMAP is setting the highest standards in the secure-chip industry.
