5/11/2004 - Performance Technologies (Nasdaq NM: PTIX), a leading developer of platforms, components and software solutions for the communications, military and commercial markets, announced Italy-based SELTA Telematica SpA is incorporating the company’s IPnexusTM MTN4100 Media and Packet Processing Subsystem and UniPorteTM Media and Packet Processing Software into its S@E-IPX product line.
SELTA’s new S@E-IPX series is based on the experience achieved with the company’s SAE series – Italy’s most powerful PBX. The S@E-IPX is an entirely new platform, open to VoIP and data services while leveraging the numerous benefits of the SAE series architecture. The S@E-IPX is able to scale from dozens of users to thousands, offering a wide range of services and features.
“Performance Technologies’ MTN4100 and UniPorte Software provided the cross platform functionality we needed to ensure the scalability of our S@E-IPX,” said Tagliaferri Carlo, CEO of SELTA Telematica SpA. “The MTN4100 offered quality and reliability beyond that of any other vendor offering, in a turnaround time that met our strict time-to-market requirements. As a result, the MTN4100 has become an integral part of a new set of VoIP services offered by S@E-IPX, including H.323 and SIP integrated gateways and MGCP Call Manager for SELTA Netfon VoIP Phones.”
Performance Technologies’ MTN4000 Series of Media and Packet Processing Solutions offers a range of densities and features to meet a wide variety of applications. Every MTN4000 Series product offers a highly efficient processing system in a standard form factor to provide quick time-to-market with feature differentiation capabilities.
All of Performance Technologies' media and packet processing subsystems are configured with UniPorte Media and Packet Processing Software. UniPorte Software is architected to facilitate systems design by processing any type of subscriber call on a call-by-call basis. The MTN4100 and UniPorte are integral parts of Performance Technologies’ IPnexus family of packet-based platforms, components and software solutions. This further establishes the IPnexus family as the industry’s most comprehensive product offering, designed to facilitate and simplify the development of IP-based network equipment.
“Voice over IP is expected to experience continued, rapid growth over the next several years around the globe. We are at the forefront of this growth and are therefore able to capitalize on opportunities such as the SELTA application,” said Sean Aruda, general manager of Performance Technologies’ Voice Technology Group. “We will continue to seek out opportunities like this within the world’s burgeoning communications infrastructure.”
