5/5/2004 - Data Translation,® Inc. announced DirectShow® support in the latest version of its award-winning scientific and general-purpose imaging software. Users can now quickly leverage GLOBAL LAB® Image/2 3.6 to rapidly build applications using IEEE1394 (FireWire) and USB cameras. GLI/2 is ideal for measurement, analysis and image processing in the scientific image analysis industry and general-purpose imaging markets. Previously, the company announced DirectShow support for DT Vision Foundry® 3.6, its general-purpose machine vision inspection software. With support for a wide range of imaging devices, DT Vision Foundry lets customers easily build inspection applications using its point, click and script interface.
Data Translation will demonstrate its DirectShow support for both DT Vision Foundry 3.6 and GLI/2 3.6 in booth #604 at Vision Show East in the Hynes Convention Center from May 4-6, 2004. The company will also highlight both products in the “Straight Talk” session located on the show floor at the end of aisle 100 on Tuesday, May 4th from 2:20-2:35 pm.
According to Fred Molinari, President, CEO and Founder of Data Translation, “Because our products can be used by end users and developers alike for image analysis and machine vision applications, we decided on Vision Show East as the most appropriate venue to showcase the company’s solutions for customers looking to improve productivity, quality and labor efficiency while saving money.”
Putting Inspection to Work
The demonstration of DT Vision Foundry 3.6 simulates a high speed industrial inspection application. Measurements verify the position of a printed circuit board within a container and the images are captured using the company’s DT3145 Camera LinkTM board. The second demonstration shows how GLI/2 3.6 captures images of a slide taken from a DirectShow-compatible FireWire camera mounted on top of a microscope, illustrating how GLI/2 and FireWire are both low-cost solutions for many medical applications such as cell and tissue analysis.
Availability, Pricing and System Requirements
