4/28/2004 - AppForge, Inc., leader in multi-platform mobile and wireless application development solutions, and Code Corporation, the leading manufacturer of image-based data collection hardware and open platform software, announced the integration of their products to enable developers to create mobile applications for the Code Reader 2.0 (CR2).
Developers can support the CR2 directly within their applications. AppForge Crossfire® includes support for setting barcode parameters, sending commands to the reader, and receiving barcodes as an event within the application. Adding barcode scanning to existing applications is as easy as adding the AppForge Crossfire CR2 control to the project and recompiling.
“AppForge is recognized as the industry leading source for cross-platform Visual Basic development systems,” said George Powell, Code Corporation President and CEO. “The addition of the CodeXML® interface to AppForge Crossfire provides a new level of applications compatibility for mobile users who need to add bar code input to their mobile applications.”
“Mobile and wireless applications for industrial use is one of the fastest growing segments in our market," said Gary Warren, CEO of AppForge. "Code Reader 2.0 is a great example of a rugged barcode scanning solution primed for use in serious enterprise applications."
The CodeXML interface enables mobile applications to directly command and control the CR2 cordless handheld bar code reader to simplify the collection of advanced bar code data, including two-dimensional codes.
AppForge Crossfire is the leading mobile and wireless application development environment that extends and simplifies Microsoft .NET development. With Crossfire, developers can create and deploy robust, smart applications for any number of mobile and wireless handheld devices, including the CR2 cordless handheld code reader with greater speed and efficiency.
