4/26/2004 - PolySpace Technologies and EmbeddedPlus Engineering announce that they have entered into a strategic partnership to develop and market a unique solution for UML-based applications developers that combines the power of model-based design verification with early detection of run-time errors.
“Integration with EP tools provides a strategic advantage for both PolySpace and EmbeddedPlus,” said Daniel Pilaud, co-founder and Chairman of PolySpace. “It gives us access to the market of UML-based embedded software developments through the network of a recognized industry leader.” added Pilaud. Chris Hote, General Manager of PolySpace Inc. added: “We view the integration of PolySpace products with the EP solution set, as an effective way for UML users to develop high-quality software while mastering the rising costs of software verification and validation. This integration definitively reinforces PolySpace as a technological leader addressing the testing and verification of embedded software projects.”
PolySpace and EmbeddedPlus will be working together on the development and implementation of this new product offering. The product will be marketed and sold through both companies sales networks. Primary target markets include Space, Defense, Avionics, Automotive, Consumer Electronics, Energy, Medical, Gaming, Railways and Telecom industries. The scope of the agreement is world-wide.
“EmbeddedPlus is very pleased with the new partnership and collaboration with PolySpace.” said Paula Thetford, CEO of EmbeddedPlus. “We feel that we already have comprehensive UML verification solutions that meet the robust FAA DO-178B requirements imposed on the Aerospace sector but the integration of PolySpace verification tools means that users of the EmbeddedPlus tool suite will benefit from an early and automatic detection of runtime errors and thus dramatically reduce their testing and debugging costs.” Salah Obeid, VP Engineering added: “This thorough solution will be available with a DO-178B qualification package. It will allow our customers to perform a more complete verification and analysis while addressing DO-178B guidelines.”
