4/22/2004 - Parvus® Corporation unveiled its OrbiTrakTM 8R integrated GPS board, a low-cost Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver designed for mobile and vehicular PC/104 embedded computer systems. Supporting both NMEA 0183 and TAIP ASCII protocols, as well as binary TSIP GPS data formats, the board integrates an 8-channel Trimble LassenTM LP GPS module, two TTL serial ports, 16 digital I/O, external battery backup, odometer input, and clock input.
The OrbiTrak 8R can be used with any of Parvus' SpacePC® Series CPU boards. It interfaces with the host through a standard 16C550 compatible Universal Asynchronous Receiver Transmitter (UART) to provide a direct connection to most commercial navigation or map software packages.
This product is specifically designed for vehicle navigation, telematics, location, and fleet management systems, as well as marine, airborne, and any other application that requires navigation, tracking, data logging, timing and/or communication functions in a small and rugged form factor. Its fast satellite signal acquisition and low-power consumption makes the OrbiTrak 8R an ideal choice for a variety of mobile and battery-powered applications.
This product is currently in stock and priced at $239/each in volume orders of 100+ units.
