4/16/2004 - Embedded Performance, Inc. of Milpitas, California, announced the immediate availability of Intel® C++ Software Development Tool Suite, optimized to support a wide range of architectural features inherent in the Intel XScale® microarchitecture. In addition to the Intel® software development tools, EPI will provide worldwide technical support and local sales support through its own network of worldwide distributors and representatives.
The complete product line-up will include:
Additionly, EPI's Virtual.One.StopTM development environments bundle EPI's MAJIC-MX® intelligent debug probe and EPI's EDB C source-level debugger, incorporating memory routines, memory controller initialization files and flash programming utilities pre-configured for Intel architecture-based development platforms. The result is a tools-to-target, validated development environment, including the software, processor and platform.
"The benefit of this collaborative relationship is the immediate availability of complete, validated OS environments, combining the best compilation and debug tools for the best SoC architecture with EPI's comprehensive support for the breadth of Intel products and platforms utilizing Intel XScale® technology," said Jon Green, president and CEO of EPI.
"The Tool Suite represents an exciting new chapter for Intel," said Jon Khazam, general manager of Intel's Software Products Division. "This is the first compiler and set of debugging tools we've offered for the Palm, Symbian and Nucleus operating systems, and, like all of our tools, it offers developers the potential for improved application performance."
The Tool Suite includes support for the Intel® Wireless MMXTM technology, incorporated in the new Intel® PXA27x processor family. The Tool Suite takes advantage of Intel Wireless MMXTM technology to provide the capability to improve graphical, audio and video performance on mobile phones and PDAs. The compiler supports Intel® Personal Internet Client Architecture processor-based handheld and mobile devices that use Palm OS v5.x or Nucleus OS v1.13 operating systems or that are OS-independent. The debugger provides additional support for Symbian OS and allows in-depth views into Intel XScale® technology for system and application debugging at all phases of development.
