4/9/2004 - White Electronic Designs Corporation (NASDAQ:WEDC) is pleased to announce the release of its 2GB DDR SDRAM Registered ECC memory module. This JEDEC compliant module provides maximum performance for memory system applications.
White’s new 2GB SDRAM is a 2 x 256Mx72 Double Data Rate (DDR) SDRAM memory module based on 512 Mb DDR SDRAM components. The module consists of eighteen 256Mx4 stacks in 66 pin TSOP packages mounted on a 184 pin FR4 substrate. The module is structured as two Ranks of 128Mx72 DDR SDRAM.
Synchronous design allows precise cycle control with the use of system clock. Data I/O transactions are possible on both edges and Burst Lengths allow the same device to be useful for a variety of high bandwidth, high performance memory system applications.
The 2GB DDR SDRAM module features DDR architecture; DDR200, DDR266 and DDR333 JEDEC design specifications. It offers bi-directional data strobes (DQS), differential clock inputs (CK & CK#), programmable Read Latency 2, 2.5 (clock) and Programmable Burst Length (2, 4 and 8). Additional features include auto and self refresh, serial presence detect, edge aligned data output and center aligned data input.
The new 2GB memory module is organized as 256Mx72 and measures 1.20 x 5.255 inches (30.48mm x 133.48mm) and a maximum .250 inches (6.35mm) package body thickness.
Pricing and Availability
White’s 2GB DDR SDRAM module is designated as part number W3EG72255S-D3 and is priced at $669.00 (US) each with a lead-time of 4-6 weeks.
