The conference is designed to give leaders from both Global 1000 companies and midsize enterprises a deeper understanding of the latest advances in RFID and the benefits and challenges the technology presents.
Intermec’s Mike Nichols, manager of systems consulting with 30 years of radio frequency experience, will present a seminar entitled “Selecting and Implementing RFID Tags and Readers” on Tuesday, March 30, during the conference. The session will explore tag and reader combinations, the importance of implementation services in creating a system that works, and ways companies can evaluate their own operations to determine which RFID hardware combinations will be the best fit for their business practices.
Intermec’s Bill Hoffman, chair of the AIAG RFID Tire and Wheel Identification Workgroup, will participate in the “Tire Tagging And RFID Within The Auto Industry: When the rubber meets the road, RFID will be involved” session scheduled for Wednesday, March 31. The session will discuss major auto and tire manufacturers that have established a standard for printing and placement of passive read/write RFID tags inside tires for product identification.
Intermec will be demonstrating RFID tags, readers, printers and labels and will have RFID experts on hand to answer questions and concerns regarding RFID implementations.
“Intermec is helping companies meet RFID compliance requirements and manage their assets and processes today,” said Intermec Vice President Scott Medford. “We’re also helping them make smart decisions that will allow them to move seamlessly to newer technologies and standards as they evolve.”
RFID, a complement to current bar code-based tracking systems, allows companies to automatically track inventory throughout an entire supply chain. Intermec RFID already is at work throughout the world, deployed in wide-ranging applications that include inventory and asset management, access control, compliance tracking, and personnel and vehicle identification.
