SPC Tests Rank Texas Memory's RamSan-320 Solid State Disk Number One

4/6/2004 - Texas Memory Systems, Inc., manufacturer of the World’s Fastest Storage (r), announced that its RamSan-320 solid state disk achieved new records for performance and price-performance during independent testing by the Storage Performance Council (SPC). The RamSan-320 achieved an SPC-1 I/O per second rate of 112,491.34 and Price-Performance value of $1.50 at a capacity of 68.719 gigabytes.

The Storage Performance Council (SPC) is a vendor-neutral standards body founded to define, standardize, and promote storage subsystem benchmarks as well as to disseminate objective, verifiable performance data to the computer industry and its customers. SPC benchmarks are designed to provide a rigorous, audited and reliable measure of performance. SPC-1 tests emulate typical Online Transaction Processing (OLTP) environments, such as those found in eCommerce and Financial sectors. These results are significant for IT users with performance-intensive applications.
