White Electronic Rolls Out 32M x 64 SDRAM with Improved Density

4/1/2004 - White Electronic Designs Corporation (NASDAQ:WEDC) announced the availability of its 2Gb SDRAM MCP. Increased density and expanded performance functionality make this component ideal for embedded applications with high performance processors and memory controllers.

White’s 32M x 64 SDRAM MCP features embedded applications, high clock frequencies of 133, 125 and 100 MHz. It is user configurable as 2 x 32M x 32 and 4 x 32M x 16. The module is fully synchronous with all signals registered on the positive edge of the system clock. The component uses internal pipelined operation enabling column address changes for every clock cycle, internal banks allow hiding row access and programmable burst lengths include 1, 2, 4, 8 or full page. Additional features include auto precharge, self-refresh and auto refresh modes.

This new device offers benefits including a 73% space savings compared to equivalent TSOP solution, reduced part count, reduced trace lengths for lower parasitic capacitance and a laminate interposer for optimum TCE match.

The package is 13mm x 22mm, 208 plastic ball grid array (PBGA), 286mm2 with a 1mm pitch. It is suitable for high-reliability applications and is available in commercial, industrial and military temperature ranges.

Pricing and Availability
The 32M x 64 SDRAM MCP, defined as part number W332M64V-XSBX, is priced at $295.00 (US) each in volumes of 100 pieces with a lead-time of 6 weeks.
